Festival of Songs Olomouc 2026

The first choral concert of the festival will take place in the Chválkovice Sokol Hall, where the festival is returning for the umpteenth time. There will be a rich musical programme with choirs from Poland and the Czech Republic. Tickets can be purchased at the venue 30 minutes before the start of the concert (payment in cash only). The concert will be held with the support of the Commission of the Municipal District No. 6 Olomouc-Chválkovice.

The opening concert to welcome the choirs that have been participating in the festival since the first day will be a meeting of three children's choirs from the Czech Republic. First, the little singers from Ústí nad Labem will perform - Mravenečci Ferdové and Chorea pueri ustensis under the direction of choirmaster Veronika Tomsová. The second half of the evening will belong to the Olomouc choir Andomeda, last year's finalist of the MUNDI CANTANT Competition for the absolute winner, under the direction of choirmaster Hana Vyroubalová.

Friday evening will offer a traditional procession in honor of the patron saint of the city, St. Pauline, as part of the Olomouc City Festival, which will begin at 6.00 p.m. at the stage on Horní náměstí. As the procession arrives at the Church of St. Moritz, the Engler organ will sound, after which the Palm Beach Atlantic University Choir from the United States will take lead as the musical guide, led by choirmaster Sonia Gonzalez Santiago. After the remains of the patron saint are laid to rest, the ceremony will smoothly turn into a full-fledged concert, with the Czech premiere of the Requiem by the American composer Heather Sorenson.

The annual final competition featuring the five highest-ranked choirs will bring the unique atmosphere of the Olomouc Song Festival to life. They will compete for the title of Absolute Winner of the MUNDI CANTANT 2026 competition, the holder of which will be determined by a professional jury. The evening will offer the best of this year's festival, which you definitely don't want to miss! Tickets will be available for purchase during the Saturday competition (9.00-16.00) in the foyer of the Reduta hall or an hour before the start of the concert (payment in cash only).

ABBA, Roxette and Nightwish under the open sky in the center of Olomouc! The culmination of this year will bring an evening full of iconic hits of Nordic music. Come and sing with us on Horní náměstí! You can look forward to an extraordinary combination of choirs (Mixed Chamber Choir Ateneo of Palacký University in Olomouc, Lucky Voice Band - Prague, vocalists from the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava) with the Moravian Theatre Orchestra Olomouc and soloist Natália Tichánková & 4GOOD. Songs of the legendary bands will be heard in arrangements by Olomouc arrangers and musicians Filip Tailor Krejčí and Richard Mlynář under the baton of conductor Tomáš Stanček. This exceptional project will take place in cooperation with the Olomouc City Festivities.
